Heritage students working with the MuseumApp

The Reinwardt Academie (academy for cultural heritage) is working with the MuseumApp! Since last week about 15 students are exploring the MuseumApp for their course themed Public and Participation.
Participating museums
The students were instructed to create a new tour for one of the participating museums of the MuseumApp. Museums they could choose from were: Museum Het Schip (‘The Ship’), Theater Instituut Nederland (Theatre Institute Netherlands), Rijksdienst voor Cultureel Erfgoed (service responsible for Dutch cultural heritage), Persmuseum (Pressmuseum), Het Grachtenhuis (museums about the canals) and the Cobramuseum.
The process
The project was started on the 10th of February with pitches from the participating museums and our researchpartner Waag Society. The students are now elaborating on which museum to work for.
During the following weeks they will then analyse an existing tour and work with the museum of their choice to come up with a new tour. One of the teams will for example start developing an indoor tour for Museum The Ship. 7scenes will be training the students so they will actually be able to create the tour they had in mind.
On March 30 the studentteams will present their final tours after presenting their concepts a few times during their course. During the project the teams will be blogging about their progress and experiences on the MuseumApp website. So keep an eye out!
We wish all the teams a lot of joy while working on the MuseumApp! We’re already very curious about the results.
