Mobile Learning Kit in the province of Zeeland

This year, Kunsteducatie Walcheren (Art education Walcheren) is using our Mobile Learning Kit in primary and seconday schools.
Kunsteducatie Walcheren is working together with schools to educate pupils in art and culture. In primary schools they achieve this by offering so called ‘culture menu’s’. These are special cultural programs that will engage all pupils actively and reactively. In secondary schools they offer their support, expertise and advise when setting up workshops, projects and performances (e.g. dance, theater, heritage etc.)
For the following semesters, the municipality of Zeeland has granted KEW an allowance to use the Mobile Learning Kit. In secondary schools pupils will learn how to create educational games themselves. In primary schools, however, the Mobile Learning Kit will be used by 200 pupils to play a historical game that was created by the Zeeuws Museums (museum of Zeeland). The theme of the game is the VOC. The game takes place in the museum as well as outdoors. By performing tasks and looking at pictures and videos, these pupils will learn about the history of the VOC.
It is the goal to gradually expand this project outside of the region of Walcheren, to finally include the entire province of Zeeland. Kick off of the project is in the city of Middelburg however. Reports about gaming sessions will follow on this blog!
