Mobile Quest 2010

The Mobile Learning Institute Mobile Quest is a week-long game design camp that teaches kids the fundamentals of games and design using smart phones and mobile devices. It was organized for the second time in 2010 at the end of July in partnership with the Mobile Learning Institute, Pearson Foundation, Parsons The New School for Design and the Institute of Play.

During Mobile Quest, kids step into the role of game designers, working with mobile phone experts, professional game designers and educators, to experience first-hand how to turn great ideas into great games and how to turn the city into a game space. This year's camp used 7scenes technology to create and play location-based games. They even went so far to use our iPhone app on iPads, even though we did not yet fully optimize it for that use. The kids were the game designers: playing, analyzing and creating games for their peers to play. You can find a set of photographs of the use of 7scenes during the Mobile Quest 2010 here at Flickr.
