About us

Organisation

7scenes - a subsidiary of Waag Products ltd. - is a spin-off company born in 2007 from the combined efforts of Dutch medialab Waag Society and Just Objects.

Waag Society
The Waag Society foundation is an Amsterdam based media lab with approximately 60 employees. The Waag applies creative technology for social innovation within education, healthcare, culture & arts and the public domain. Through collaboration with artist Esther Polak in a project called Amsterdam RealTime, the Waag kicked off its locative media journey back in 2002. Ever since Waag Society has developed many projects such as Frequency 1550 (Spin Award Best Gaming Concept '08), Mobile Learning Game Kit, The Digital Dowsing Rod, Mobile Math, Fort Amsterdam and Games Atelier and organised workshops and debates on locative media at for instance the annual Picnic festival.

Just Objects
Just Objects ltd is the trading name for the software development activities of Just van den Broecke. Just has an extensive history and lots of experience in the field of object technology and Java. The past 6 years his efforts have focused mainly on GIS and locative media projects such as Bliin, GeoSaling and Sense of the City. The GeoTracing platform resulted from these developments and is now part of the 7scenes technology platform.
