For Mobile Storytelling
7scenes is a mobile storytelling platform that provides organizations with all the tools you need to develop Scenes – location-based tours and games for smartphones – in a personal channel. 7scenes is a complete suite with an authoring toolkit, apps for iPhone and Android, a web platform and admin tools.
Scene Maker – our Content Management System

Our authoring tools take you through the process of building and publishing your Scene in 5 simple steps.
Here are the main features:
- Runs in your browser. No installs whatsoever.
- No programming! Simply assemble your Scene by dropping places onto a map.
- We support many different kinds of places: video, photo, note, sound, task (question + photo challenge), combi (slideshow of media), opinion poll and reward
- You work with a wide range of genres (interactive templates) that you configure. From guided tours to multi-player roleplaying to indoor navigation. Check out the fill listing of feature packages.
- Set up events to invite specific people.
- Update your Scenes at any time and (re)publish
- Multiple people can publish in the same channel and all manage their personal media library.
Apps

Once Scenes are published players can access them through the free 7scenes apps. We support iPhone and Android and plan to launch a Mobile Browser app in 2012.
Here’s how the app works:
- You can discover Scenes by exploring the map, browsing the channels or checking out the featured and nearby lists.
- Play a Scene by navigating the map and activating places by being close-by.
- Check out videos and photos, perform tasks, upload photos and score point at locations.
- Players can share Scenes, places or uploaded photos through Facebook and Twitter and leave reviews
- All activity is stored for play back later on the web.
Web platform
![]()
After publishing a Scene it does not only show up in the apps, but also at our Web platform at 7scenes.com.
Here’s what you can do on the web:
- You can discover Scenes by exploring the map, browsing the channels or checking out the featured and nearby lists.
- Each Scene has its own page so you can see what it’s about. A map shows the different places that can also be activated.
- Each Scene can be posted to Facebook and Twitter and has a permalink and embeddable widget for sharing. Even some can be printed.
- Uploaded photos and reviews from players are available
- Each player can play back his personal activity (GPS trace, places visited and uploaded answers and photos) on the map.
Admin tools
We have different types of admins in 7scenes, that get special access. As an admin you manage your organization’s channel and who can publish in that channel. Additionally, you have access to all the stats, so you can see how Scenes are experienced in time.
